al borde llama
al borde lllama is a graphic textile project that combines handicraft and industry, the traditional and the contemporary.
It develops textile pieces using diverse knitting and printing techniques.
Created in 2009 by Silvana Nicanora Mosquera, graphic designer, graduate from Buenos Aires University,
who after working in different design studios, gives birth to al borde llama. Her work has been exhibited in art galleries
and published in national and international design books and magazines (from Taiwan, Brazil, the United States,
Japan, Spain, Berlin and London). She has also worked in teaching as assistant professor at Buenos Aires University,
School of Architecture, Design and Urbanism.
Al borde llama supports the values of craft work. It draws inspiration from chaos and the randomness of nature,
resulting in versatility. It focuses its vision in Latin-American traditions from the Altiplano, recovering its techniques.
The llama as its distinctive sign.
Al borde llama’s textile pieces have been selected by Opening Ceremony to be at its New York store in the context
of Diseño Argentino. They are also distributed in Chile, Brazil, the United States and Spain.
